There is no exact answer to this question, it depends. In the world, temperatures and climate differ between the various States even considerably (just think of the climatic differences between southern and northern Europe in terms of temperatures and precipitation). Before choosing the location it is therefore always advisable to inquire first about the climate in the period you have chosen, especially if you go outside Europe. If you are interested in the Southern Hemisphere, you must also consider the reversal of the season.
Another thing you should take into account is that many Italians have the opportunity to go on vacation at the same time (generally between mid-July and mid-August). This means that in the chosen location, in addition to greater confusion given by the high season, you can meet many Italians.
If August is the period you have chosen, we advise you to leave after August if you have the possibility, so as to find in general less confusion.
Are Cambridge exams run only in Cambridge? No. There are numerous authorized Exam Centres around the world and exam sessions take place on the same day on all continents.
Is the issue of a certificate of attendance expected? Yes. Some schools issue them automatically, others do it on request. In any case, we advise you to inform yourself a few days before the end of your stay.
Is it possible to change the host family? Yes. It may happen that you want to change the host family. In this case, please contact Language Point promptly to allow you to make the change as soon as possible.
Is there a specific hour when to be home? Generally not for adults, but for minors you follow the instructions of the family of origin and agree accordingly with the host family.
In any case, good manners and respect for silence when returning home are naturally welcome.
Is the teaching material provided by the school? Generally yes. Stationery (notebooks, pens, pencils) are usually at the student’s discretion.
Being part of the European Community, you do not need a work or study visa if your stay will be in Malta or Ireland.
In the UK, the situation is being updated following Brexit.
In Australia it is possible to apply for a tourist visa for stays of less than three months (ETA or eVisitor), or a student visa, which also gives the possibility to work part-time. The Working Holiday is designed for young people between 18 and 30 years old, has a longer validity (1 year) and allows you to work and study (in the latter case, for no more than 17 weeks).
A visa is not required in New Zealand for stays of less than three months for most European countries. The Italy Working Holiday visa is also available, for those aged between 18 and 30 and aspiring to work in this country.
The situation in South Africa is similar. Here, too, for most Europeans, a visa is not required for stays of less than three months, otherwise you can apply for the Study Visa, which also allows you to work part-time.
In Canada it is possible to apply for a Working Holiday visa. This lasts one year and is issued for Italians aged between 18 and 35. For stays of less than 6 months, it is necessary to apply for an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization).
In the United States, finally, it is possible for Italians request a student visa for intensive courses that require more than 17 hours per week of classes. Otherwise, to visit the USA as a tourist, it is necessary to register on a special site. Those with an electronic passport do not need a visa for a stay of less than three months.
Stay tuned.
